Identity design / 2023 Spring
The Cairo Olympics identity is based on the shapes and boldness of the logo as well as the traditional Egyptian color palette. The logo design is based on the Egyptian lotus flower, which is a symbol of rebirth in Egyptian culture. It was also used to represent unification during times when Egypt was split into two kingdoms, which reminds me of how sports unifies people from different nations. The logo is a strong representation of the Egyptian culture as well as the landmark of Cairo (The Cairo Tower).
